How to remove a Java instance from the config tools

Hi,

I would like to remove a java instance from the config tool since that server does not exist anymore. Is there a way?

Please le me know.

Hi Jean,

Check whether the instance node which shows in configtool and which is not in use is present in instance profile.

If yes, it is present in instance profile, , take the backup of instance profile and remove the instance name and restart the java stack.

Thanks for the reply, the node is not present in the instance profile in \usr\sap\SID\SYS\profile. When i load the config tool, it loads everything from the Database, it must be somewhere in the DB.

Jean,

I think you can do this if you remove the entries of your Instance from instance.properties file located under the below path.Take a backup of the file first then do the changes and Restart the server once done.

/usr/sap/SID/JCInstanceno/j2ee/cluster/instance.properties
