NetWeaver 7.3 only technology upgrade possible?

Hi Experts,

One of our customers visited this years TechEd and now tells that the upcomming NetWeaver 7.3 Application Server can be installed to upgrade an existing NetWeaver 7.0 without migrating the SAP Modules to Version 7.3.

So to say replace only the technology plattform.

Can anybody tell me if this could be true? In my opinion one have to do a complete migration from 7.0 to 7.3 including all the SAP stuff.

Nope that is not possible & not uspported either. It has to be a entire version upgrade including the database stack (sap modules) not just the kernel of NW 7.3
