Hi,

We have upgraded from SRM 5.0 to SRM 7.0.

In SRM 7.0, there is one concept called POWL.

Can any one please let me know the use of POWL.

What is the difference between POWL and UWL.

Can any one please clarify these things.

With out POWL , can we use the UWL in SRM 7.0.

Regards

Venkatesh P

Hi,

Universal Work List (UWL) u2013 one central inbox for all tasks, alerts, notifications, assigned to the user across all systems. Users will see their tasks need to be actioned e.g. workflow approvals etc. will come in UWL to process.

Personal Object Work List (POWL) u2013 focus on the individual tasks assigned to a role and one-stop workplace from where all related actions can be taken from. These are active queries which can be configured at user level to display their own data. You can say SRM 5.0 Shopping Cart Check Status functionality is incorporated here.

Thanks,

Thank you for the clarification. I work with Venkatesh Padarti and we are now running into an issue in the POWL. Most of the buttons/link in the POWL area are not working, they are getting redirected to our Portal home page. For example 'display button', when we highlight a shopping cart on the POWL and click on the display button, a new browser window opens and displays our portal home page. Can you help us with this?

Thank you,

Judy

Hi Judy,

I assumed you are using standard portal role of SRM 7.0 business package. In Portal Content Administration, folder Business Objects, is there a folder called SRM and contains object Shopping Cart?

If you captured the traffic by httpWatch, can you find a string like "dropPRTEvent=OBNEvent&BOTechnicalName=sc"?

Hi Donald,

yes we are able to see the string. When we select the shopping cart and click display.

http://***********.net/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=navurl%3A%2F%2F2e6f8a0afbd23dcdce3729cd653a841c&d...;

Operation=displayprof&isOBN=true&APPLID=SAPSRM_E_CHECKSTATUS&POWL_QUERY=4CCA25ADB0E845E7E10080000A402D38&SAPSRM_CA_TAB=D_I_BD&SAPSRM_ITEMID=4D004B86467040EDE10080000A402D38&sapsrm_boid=4D004B15467040EDE10080000A402D38&DynamicParameter=APPLID%3dSAPSRM_E_CHECKSTATUS%26POWL_QUERY%3d4CCA25ADB0E845E7E10080000A402D38%26SAPSRM_CA_TAB%3dD_I_BD%26SAPSRM_ITEMID%3d4D004B86467040EDE10080000A402D38%26sapsrm_boid%3d4D004B15467040EDE10080000A402D38&CurrentWindowId=WID1292321459011&NavMode=3

But still it is going to home page.

Hi Venkatesh P,

The URL that you captured suppose will open a browser and display shopping cart. I cannot find anything wrong at the moment. My best guess is portal content problem or portal not enable short URL.

In your URL, replace the hased short URL "2e6f8a0afbd23dcdce3729cd653a841c" by full URL "ROLES://portal_content/com.sap.pct/specialist/com.sap.pct.srm.srm70/com.sap.pct.srm.core.fl_core/com.sap.pct.srm.core.fl_roles/com.sap.pct.srm.core.ro_employeeselfservice/fl_navi/com.sap.pct.srm.core.iv_shopprof".

Then paste the complete URL to browser and see what happen. If it display the shopping cart, then portal is not enable the short URL. If it is still wrong, try reload SRM7 business package to portal and test again.

Hi Donald,

I have pasted the below link in browser and i got "Page not found or not available" message.

http://************.net/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=navurl%3A%2F%2FROLES://portal_content/com.sap.pc...;

Operation=displayprof&isOBN=true&APPLID=SAPSRM_E_CHECKSTATUS&POWL_QUERY=4CCA25ADB0E845E7E10080000A402D38&SAPSRM_CA_TAB=D_I_BD&SAPSRM_ITEMID=4D004B86467040EDE10080000A402D38&sapsrm_boid=4D004B15467040EDE10080000A402D38&DynamicParameter=APPLID%3dSAPSRM_E_CHECKSTATUS%26POWL_QUERY%3d4CCA25ADB0E845E7E10080000A402D38%26SAPSRM_CA_TAB%3dD_I_BD%26SAPSRM_ITEMID%3d4D004B86467040EDE10080000A402D38%26sapsrm_boid%3d4D004B15467040EDE10080000A402D38&CurrentWindowId=WID1292321459011&NavMode=3

Hi Venkatesh P,

To replace short URL and use full URL, it should be:

"http://************.net/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=ROLES://portal_content/com.sap.pct/specialis......".

Please try again.

Hi Donald,

Thank you.

I have tried with that URL, we are getting below message "Object or set with GUID 00000000000000000000000000000000 does not exist".

Please let me know, we are missing any thing.

Hi Venkatesh P,

First of all, double check the URL to ensure there is no space and replace the short URL by full URL correctly.

If there is no problem, then check below objects in SRM:

POWL_QUERY=4CCA25ADB0E845E7E10080000A402D38 (Browse table POWL_QUERY to check is this Query ID exist)

SAPSRM_ITEMID=4D004B86467040EDE10080000A402D38 (Browse table CRMD_ORDERADM_I to check is this object GUID exist)

sapsrm_boid=4D004B15467040EDE10080000A402D38 (Browse table CRMD_ORDERADM_H to check is this object GUID exist)

If all objects exist, I suggest to reload SRM7 business package into portal again.

Donald

Venkatesh,

POWL and UWL are two different things.

I would recommned you to go through following SAP help for further details.

Universal Worklist - http://help.sap.com/saphelp_srm70/helpdata/en/a2/4ef704069e4c0bb20f12390fc7d37d/frameset.htm

Personal Object Worklist - http://help.sap.com/saphelp_srm70/helpdata/en/a2/4ef704069e4c0bb20f12390fc7d37d/frameset.htm

UWL is a list of work items and provides quick access to your ECC and SRM Mail box.

POWL is a query driven worklist that list the procurement documents from ECC and SRM
