What are the criteria to decide which module of SAP viz., SNP or TPVS can meet our business process requirements of an Integrated Steel Plant.
Hi,
Hi,
APO TPVS module will fit the business scenarios involving transportation processes. These normally involve outbound transportation u2013 route optimization, carrier selection.
APO Supply Network Planning (SNP) integrates purchasing, manufacturing, distribution, and transportation to create mid to long term tactical plan. Following are the main business processes covered in APO SNP.
u2022 DRP planning
u2022 Capacity leveling
u2022 Safety stock planning
u2022 Subcontracting
u2022 VMI
u2022 Simulation
There are optimization algorithms availble in APO SNP for optimzation based on costs.
From steel industryu perspective, depending upon the supply chain network i.e. manufacturing plants, warehouse/Distribution centers, SKUs, various processes from SNP can be implemented.
However, there are some restrictions when there is Make-to-order scenario.
regards
Datta
