Link Primavera with SAP DMS

Hi Gurus

Is it possible to link Primavera activies with SAP DMS documents. There are lot of activities in Primavera and we need to link the documents to those Primavera activities.

Hi Raja,

The best option for this is to use Cfolders in PLM. where you can use the Primavera. Cfolders web based application is suitable for this.

Hi Raja,

Standard SAP DMS doesn't offer this feature.

You would have to integrate SAP and Primavera using their respective APIu2019s. Also, there are vendors in the market that offer specialty products for this integration.As an alternative,incase you have c-projects in your landscape,you may look at importing your Primavera project into cProjects and then linking it your WBS elements/projects/tasks to DMS via DMS object linking feature.

On hindsight,would also suggest you contemplate switch to c-projects from Primavera if you are already on SAP landscape just for the simple fact that it would provide tighter,easier integration and homogenous environment going forward.

Thanks. I have linked a document with a WBS Element & a Network Activity which are created in PS module and these documents can be viewed in PS module. The same activities will be defined in Primavera also. Can you please send the configuration guides for the same.

Yes,you may adopt either Project Systems or c-Projects based on your landscape and scenario.You may download the SAP DMS best practices guide from SAP marketplace which will help you with config details.For information on object linking,would recommend you search the DMS forum as this topic has been discussed extensively several time over.
