Experts ,
I am getting error "Unable to connect with Database Sever ".
I am trying to connect to data base server from Conole I am getting abover error.
Below are details:
MDM version: 7.1.01.50
SQL Server : SQL server 2005.
I am trying to connect with SQL server with admin userid.
Could you please provide me help to fix this issue.
Thanks in advance,
Kiran
Hi Kiran,
Very first thing, check whether SQL Server 2005 is compatible with MDM 7.1. Admin user id won't work because that is specific to MDM repository. Here you need to pass the login credentials of SQL Server user. Try windows ID where SQL server is installed or user sa (if Mixed Mode authentication was selected at the time on installing SQL Server).

Hi Kiran,
Have you defined the Data Path and log Path. If not so, Please mount your MDM server (running)>Right click on it>DBMS Settings>A pop up window will come>add here>another pop-up window will come>Give your DBMS Server as IP Address here and DBMS type as Sql_Server and then give DBMS user name and password.
here it will ask for Data Path (Specifies the file system location where database files will be created whenever you create a new MDM repository or unarchive to a new repository e.g. C:\Program Files\SAP MDM 7.1\Console\Archives) and log path (Specifies the file system location where the SQL Server transaction log file is created e.g. C:\Program Files\SAP MDM 7.1\Console\Logs)
Just check and revert with result.

Hello
I have installed new MDM 7.1 with DB2 & have copied the old archieve file of my previous MDM 7.1 which was in oracle.
Now when I try to mount a MDM server in the MDM console
& try to mount the old repository, I am getting *unable to connect to the database server*
After selecting DBMS server & providing username & password. its not taking next step.
throwing error : error in retrieving DBMS setting.
Please guide me if you have resolved this since it is old message posted.
Thanks
Navin
