SAP BPC installation- SAP NW Java stack

Hi,

We are in the process of installing BPC-NW (SAP BusinessObject Planning and Consolidation for Netweaver) for a client. Please could you advise us on the requirements in the following scenarios: -

1. We use BPC Excel and web interface and not SAP BI web reports or Enterprise portal. In this case do we need to install NW Java stack as well or we can manage with just ABAP stack.

Hi,

The BPC System is a holistic package consisting of the following (for BPC 7.0):

1. SAP NW AS-ABAP 7.0 EhP1

2. MS .NET Web & App Server

Thus, SAP BPC for Netweaver runs on top of SAP NW BI-ABAP Platform & hence a must. Check the Master Guide from the Service Marketplace for further information.

Thanks for your answer.

However, it doesnt answer whether or not I will need a Java stack for NW.

My basic question is whether for NW I need only ABAP stack or ABAP+Java stack.

Hi,

You wont need a AS-JAVA stack at all, just a ABAP stack should be sufficient.

Hello,

Only the usage type AS-ABAP is required for BPC 7.0. The AS-JAVA, BI-JAVA, and EP usage types are not required.

Ensure that EHP1 for Netweaver and BPC ABAP add in are installed successfully
