Follow the process given below.

1. Stopsap

2. In the linux, see if you get any return for "ipcs |grep <sidadm>"

Replace <sidadm> with the correct one.

If anything returns, you need to cleanup with "cleanipc <sysnr> remove" and "ipcrm -m (or) -s <shared memory number>"

use m or s depends on the list.

3. Check if you any other process running under SIDADM, if so kill them and start the SAP.

By the way howmuch memory is allocated.

Hi,

I had done cleanipc.But still no effect.Should i try ipcrm ?

Former Member

Yes.

Do you see any other process runnig under sidadm?

Former Member

Hi,

Not really after the shutdown of SAP.Do you see anything suspicious in the logs.Thanks.

Former Member

We can't see it.

But predicting based on the shared memory issue for the dispatcher.

Former Member

I also thought the same.Since the issue came after changing the profile parameters.

Former Member

The parameters were related to memory and buffers.Sir shall i add you in linkedin had seen your profile over there.

Run "sappfpar check pf=<instance profile name>" to see if you get any error.

can you please elaborate what are the parameter you have changed? and have you performed the sappfpar check after changing the parameters? Try to revert the parameters which you have changed and try to bring the SAP online.

Hi,

CAn you tell us which parameter you have changed and what value you have set.

Thanks

Hello,

you have error there:

***ERROR: Size of shared memory pool 10 too small

you got also solutions there:

SOLUTIONS: (1) Locate shared memory segments outside of pool 10

with parameters like: ipc/shm_psize_<key> =0

SOLUTION: Increase size of shared memory pool 10

with parameter: ipc/shm_psize_10 =146000000

Simply try what is recommended - to set up parameter ipc/shm_psize_10 =146000000 or to move some area away from shared memory segment if for some reason you do not wist or cannot enlard the pool.

Best regards.

And make sure you perform sappfpar check after modifying the parameter.

Former Member

Finally issue got resolved by removing the parameter em/global_area_MB.Anyone wants to throw some light on the issue.Thanks.

Former Member
0 Kudos

The default value for the parameter em/global_area_MB is 96 MB. How much you have increased to? If you read the documentaion for parameter em/global_area_MB in RZ11.

Whenever you make any changes to profile parameters specially memory related you must perform sappfpar check (already mentioned above)

Check above error logs which shows that no memory is available on the system. Change the memory so that it should not use all the memory available.

Thanks
