Slow patch import on ESX Server

Hello,

we use a VMWARE ESX Server 4.0 with SLES 9 and a ERP 6.0 System - Maxdb 7.7.

The Virtuel Machine has 32GB Ram and 2 CPU´s.

The System work´s fine and fast, but when i want to patch some Supportpackages via Spam,

the System slow down. BASIS - Supportpackage Rel:701 Patch 1-3 takes 3 hours !

How can i speed up the Patchimport ?

- Use the parallel option in SPAM/SAINT (Extras - Settings)

- use the in-transport parallel option of R3trans (Note 1127194 - R3trans import with parallel processes)

- check the settings for your database (especially the parameter CacheSize)

Hi,

you might also increase the amount of vCPUs, becaue parallelism is superfluous when there is no processor which could process the processes.
