Creating multiple shipments from delivery document is not that simple. So it is unlikely that your people are able to create multiple shipment documents from the delivery document.
In the delivery document, the route shoudl have multiple stages of different shipment t ypes. This configuration is done in routes and stages.
When only one shipment is created for the deliveyr, it is called Direct shipment.
When a series of shipments are created, it is called transportation chain which basically consists of Preliminary leg, Mainleg and Subsequent leg.
These leg types are determined in the shipment type configuration. These are also present in route configuration.
The shipment types are also available both in route and shipment type.
So.
You can create multiple shipments for the delivery only in the following situation.
1. The shipment created as Prelim leg will be used to create a shipment in order to do shipment of the route stage which is a preliminary leg. In this case again, the shipment type of the route and shipment type of the shipment document should be done.
2. Same for main leg and subsequent leg also.
If these configurations are not enabled, then it is not possible to create multiple shipment document for a delivery document.
