Enterprise Portal or ITS with APO?

Hi Gurus,

Did any one implemented Enterprise Portal (EP) with APO to provide access to planning book on internet ? What is the advangate of EP over ITS? Is EP more secure than ITS? I think I am asking more tech questions, I am looking answers to make business decision (provide inputs to Managers).

Hi BKN,

The Enterprise Portal provides secure feature as a single sign-on for all business services starting from outlook to log on across SAP systems, ECC, CRM, APO, Solution Manager etc

It is similar to logging on to your workstation or desktop pc

While ITS does not provide all these features

We had implemented EP in earlier project.

EP is akin to all desktop features on a web browser

Did you implement EP with APO (DP/SNP))? Did you provide access to external users via internet (say customer/vendors) through EP ?

Hi BKN,

The EP covered the landscape R/3 4.7 E, APO 4.10 (DP,SNP,PPDS,GATP), Solution Manager. PLM & CRM

The users could access the company's IT systems across the country to whatever access they had system wise via authorization management.

But Vendors & Customers are not part of the enterprise per say.

The customers had access to the CRM system
