Monitoring standalone ABAP instances

Hi all,

I need some basic information and how to start guide to implement Alert Monitoring and configuring Auto-Reaction methods.

1. How can CCMS be configured on an ABAP system (w/o Solution Manager) ?

2. Is CCMS agent necessary for monitoring w/o solution manager ?

Please help me to find out good Articles and Blogs

Hi,

The CCMS monitor architecture (transaction RZ20) allows you to define

auto-reaction methods (reports, function modules) that are executed

automatically when alerts occur.

System Monitoring in SAP Solution Manager is based on the functions of

CCMS, so in order to get e-mails for the alerts you should make the

configuration of the auto-reactinos methods in CCMS (RZ20/RZ21).

If you SAP Solution Manager system in the Central Monitorng System (CEN)

you can define the methods as Central Auto Reaction methods directly

the Solution Manager; alternatively you can also define the methods

as local autorreactions in the satellite systems.

Please carefully read the documentation about the Monitoring

Architecture, the Central Monitoring System (CEN)a nd also see the

chapter "Configuring Alert Triggering and Alert Reactions"
