Hello everyone,
We are setting up a set of Universes that are going to access an Oracle CRM, and a SQL Data Warehouse in order to get this data available for SAP BOBJ´s platform and making several reports on it´s different applications (Xcelsius, WeBi, Voyager, etc).
Is it better to setup some kind of data staging repository (or something in between) to improve performance or we can go straight to these sources without any impact?
Your advise would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Carlos
It is always suggested to have a staging area in between for reporting purposes. It not only improves the performance but also protects from dirty reads. you can also create some Aggregate tables to improve the performance.
it is not recommnded to query the production database directly.
