SAP GUI access denied errors

Hi All,

I'm having problems installing GUI 720 and for that matter 710 on just one XP PC.

I've searched and tried various suggestions:

Deleted SAP reg keys under current user and local machine and C:\Program Files\SAP.

I've run a check disc and system file check.

Tried moving the install files from a share to the local machine.

Unistalled service pack 3

All to no avail.

I've logged on as a domain admin and local admin however the error appears to be a 'rights' issue.

Please note just 1 machine fails and I've installed with no problems on other machines within the business.

I'm very reluctant to flatten this machine and start again as this user has a special role within the company and has software that would take alot of time to source then install.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

which log file did you have pasted here?

If you have problems ONLY on this one XP client then i would recommecn the following:

- deinstall the sapgui with following command line in START -> RUN

nwsapsetup /uninstall /all /nodlg

( /all works ONLY with the combination of /silent or /nodlg !!!! )

*you need administrative user rights

( in WTS environment you must also change to installlation mode )

- uninstall the VCREDIST installation in the CONTROL PANEL ->

ADD / REMOVE Software -> deinstall the

Microsoft redistributable runtime DLLs VS2005 SP1(x86)

- if exists, delete the folder

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Sap Shared

- delete all other folders where the sapgui was installed

c:\program files\sap\Frontend

C:\Program Files\SAP\Business Explorer

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\SAP Front En

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Business

Explorer

- delete then all "SAP" entries in the windows registry in

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDLLs

( ONLY the SAP entries !!!! )

Now you have a CLEAN workstation.

Then you can install the sapgui for windows 7.20.

If you have Problems again, then please open OSS message in BC-FES-INS and attach all the Log files from the LOGS folder of that affected Client PC!

Everytime I try to install SAP FRONT END, when gets to 94% the instalation close and gives me this error:

Aplogies for the delay here.

In our case the registry had become corrupted for the user, further testing revealed installs for a whole range of applications were failing.

Restoring this resoved the issue.

and attach there the complete LOGS folder from the affected client pc !
