SMD Agent installation 7.11 on solution manager 7.o EHP1

Hi gurus please help me as i am new to SMD and AIX

i have 7.0 ehp1 solution manager which has been upgraded from its previous version

now i have to do the SMD & WILY INTERSCOPE installation on solution manage as well as on

Enterprise portal (netweaver 7.0 sps 14)

as i have seen on many forum that 7.0 ehp1 (sps 18) smd server get install by default when we install

solution manager

but in my case i have checked the following directory /USR/SAP/<DASID> that does not exsit on solution manager file system

so its mean the SMD server is not installed on solution manager

so do i have to first install the SMD server on solution manager then

2) wily enterprise manager on solution manager

3) SMD agent on Enterprise portal

is there any way by which we can see SMD server is working on AIX like windows

please clear this SMD server concept

i have seen you are very much in to solution manager and SMD Intsallation

i would like to tell you one more time my system details

1) i have solution manager 7.0 ehp1(sps23)

2) EP(dev) 7.0 sps(14)

acording to the SMD setup guide, I was using 7.11 SMD Agent and SAPinst which gui was not poping up.

later somebody told me to go with 7.0 sr1 SMD Agent

and i did in same way & i have gone all the way to complete installation on EP(DEV)

after completeing when i am executing SOLMAN_SETUP on solution manager

iam getting error in MANAGED SYSTEM CONFIGURATION step

checking the prerequisite

ERROR

" Software with prerequisite are incorrect

a) found J2EE ENGINE SERVERCORE 7.11 with sp level 0, minimum sp level required is 1

b) found SAP J2EE ENGINE 7.00 sp level 0 minimum sp level required is 9

Please can you help to overcome this problem i will very Thankfull to you

hi jansi thanks for ur suggestion i did in same way i went the directory where software is placed

after setting all the java variable and path for java policy file evev display is also working fine the xclock is running properly

then i typed ./sapinst -nogui

then result i have shown on the previous post but the problem is sapinst gui screen doest not come it remains same for next 3 to 4 hours then finely i have to cancel the screen then start the same i dont know where iam doing wrong

but from last 5 days i am trying to start the installation but it is not sapinst is not poping up please help me ASAP

iam using j2sdk1.4.2_sr12 i have heard from some resources that this java version is not compatible with sap

please help me to overcome as iam using window pc connected aix server through(x manager)

check with command "xclock" if display is coming for root user.

Procedure on Windows
      1.      Log on to the installation host as a user with administrator rights.
       2.      Insert the DVD with the installation files in your DVD drive.
       3.      Enter the following commands:
cd <DVD_DRIVE>:\SAPinst\NT\I386
sapinst SAPINST_START_GUI=false
SAPinst now starts and waits for the connection to the SAPinst GUI. 
You see the following at the command prompt:
*guiengine: no GUI connected; waiting for a connection on host <host_name>, port <port_number> to continue with the installation*
You can now start the SAPinst GUI on your local host, as described in Starting SAPinst GUI Standalone.

Do you have SMD sid under /USR/SAP/ ?

What SP LEvel of component LM-SERvice and ST400 do you have ?

hi

you should check in your managed system (satelite system ) whether SMD installed or nt .while doing installaton it should be the requiring the SAP Installation Master 7.11 DVD required for this. if the Diagnostics agent is instaled on your managed system, there shoud be te folder as usr/sap/<DASID>/SMDA<00-97>/SMDAgent. please check in te managed system. if not follow the below guide to install the same.

you can view the smd availability by using SAP MNC. regarding wily also you refer the above guide.

but now i move to next level of this problem as

i believe it doesnt exist on server and i have to install it

could you please help me that how to configure it with

managed system as well as configuration in solution manager for information i have

EP system is 700 sps 14 with user required to configure it

As I am totally new to SMD i have seen on forums that some guys doing config through

SOLMAN_SETUP some says Solman_workcenter(solution manger sps 23)

Hi,

Please go to this link:

And look for documentation as this is not a 123 cook book.

Before continue farder you must update your Solman up to SPS 24 because your system is too low in level, then run solman_setup after that you need to do initian configuration and basic configuration but for this you better take a look at the documentation.
