New to Webdynpro

Hi all,

I am very much new to web dynpro. I am learning now . i have developed small application but i am getting one error when i am deploying the project.

Deployment exception : Cannot determine sdm host (is empty). Please configure your engine/sdm correctly !

Please let me know do i need any other installation required for this. Please let me know which is the best way to learn web dynpro. any materials or sites are helpful.

hi sreedhar,

Try adding this to solve ur problem,

in following location

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

u will find one file names "hosts" open that in notepad and add at the end of file..

<ur system ip address> <servername>

example:

202.2.3.45 sreedhar

hope this will sovle ur deplyment problem

Hi Sreedhar Rusuma,

Where is your J2EE Server running?. In Localmachine or Remotemachine?. Based on this configure through Windows->Preferences->SAP J2EE Engine.

Hi Sreedhar,

Go to menu window->Preferences->SAP J2EE Engine

and select Engine type then enter the Host and Port

Hi

TO deploy and run WebDynpro application you need SAP J2EE engine.You have to deploy the application on this SAP J2EE Engine.It can be on your localhost if you have installed WAS on your machine or it can be a remote host.

You have to go to Window>Preferences>SAP J2EE engine in you NWDS and there you have to configure the settings.

After you have done this, you can deploy the application.For deploying you nedd SDM password.

You will get very good help in NWDS help and on help.sap.com for WebDynpro.
