EasyDMS Question

Case:

A user has checked-out a file.

When the file is checked-out, is there a way to prevent other users from

1 - Use Exit Edit Mode on this file

2 - Use Change with SAP Gui on the document

Typically we only want key-users to be able to open a check-out file for other user again.

Hi Tom,

Authorizations are controlled with the objects like document type, status,object link etc. Also activity wise like create,change,display.

You can't restrict the user to perform a specific activity once you have given him authorization for that. Hope you understood , if you are giving authorization to display or change or creare then you can't restrict the user.

Now, solution for your query is that don't give acess of such documents to users which you don't want to check-out the documents.

Hope this will resolve the query.

Thank you for the quick answer.

But this will not solve our issue.

The user need to have access to change documents.

But when somebody else has checked out the document, only specific users should be allowed to cancel this check-out, or even change meta data on the document.

If the document is not checked out, the user should be allowed to change meta-data or check-out himself.

So you do not see any solution for this?
