Hi.
I'm aware that using Materialized views in Oracle is a good subtitute for Aggregate tables when designing a universe in Business Objects, but having had no previous experience of this, I wonder if someone can tell me what are the steps to take in order to incorporate/use Materialized views instead of an aggregate table in a universe. Well, any information, tips, or past experiences on this isgreatly appreciated, the Business Objects version is BOXI3.1 SP3.1 - FP3.1.

In order to build a mat view you have to investigate the SQL statements your users nromaly send to the database. An "try and find out" approach is to create a pilot universe and reports, monitor the SQL statements directly in the database and decide which mat views to implement (based on a smallest common intersection of the SQL queries that are issued).
