Variant matching in Quotation

Dear Gurus,

I am trying to create quotation for configurable material and my requirement is to replace this configurable material by Material variant.

Configurable material is KMAT and Material variant is FERT.

Now I am trying to create quotation,system is asking for char value for configurable material, after entering the values which are similar to Material variant system should replce configurable material by Material variant.But this is not happening.

Item category AGC is maintained where below are the setting

Business data

Completion Rule--B

Bill of material/Configuration

Config strategy---01

Mat variant Action -

---

Structure scope---D

Application---SD01

Variant matching is Ticked.

What could be the reason that system is not replacing configurable material by Material Variant.

Hello Shrikant

Check the config profile (CU42) and see what you have for BOM explosion in the Configuration Parameters tab. Only materials with the configuration parameter BOM Explosion: None can be replaced by material variants.

While there check what do you have in the tab 'User Interface'/Settings. There is a sub-tab called Variant Matching see how you set it up.

Also check the relevant Requirements class (OVZG) and ensure you have Configuration allowed or required indicator in the field 'Configuration'.
