Hi,
In SRM 7.0, while converting RFx to Auction, 'start bid price' is mandatory. Can we make the value in this field not visible to buyer while publishing the auction?? (under the assumption of start bid prie automatically flowing to 'start bid price' field of auction screen from Rfx responses, which is a custom development)
Kindly share your valuable ideas.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Sree,
"Start price" being optional is sometimes requsted by customers, however it is mandatory as delivered by standard. It's not easy (if possible at all) to enhance/modify the codes so that it becomes optional. Also you can't hide it without modification of the original Java code. However, one work around is to define a unrealistically big number as start price in your live auction. Such big number would indicate a "fake" start price for bidders to ignore. You can also state clearly in your auction so that the bidders know how to start bidding with regard to the starting price.

If you are only targetting to hide the start price from the bidder (and you have taken my suggestion of defining a very large number for start price as a work around), you have to do the following:
1. Ask SAP for the source code of the Java applet, modify to hide the start price field from the applet
2. Modify the HTML template (SRM 5 or below) or configure webdynpro screen (SRM 7) to hide the start price field on the main auction screen for bidder view.
