Hello,
Can anyone please elaborate on limitations in PP/DS over CTM and vice versa.
I understand that these two are different planning tools but just wanted to understand high level pros and cons in between CTM and PP/DS.
Thanks,
Sanjog
CTM allows you to prioritize your demands and to categorize your offer. This way, you can match in a very precise way "which offer covers your different demand types".
CTM is more oriented to planning your whole supply chain, at all levels: it tries to find a feasible solution to every planning problem, though not the optimal solution, using the information in your whole supply chain. However, PPDS is more focused on production planning and detailed scheduling at a single location.
Kind regards.
Marcos

PPDS:
1. Supports Sequence dependent set up activities.
2.Supports Synchronization of multi activity resources.
3.Short term planning
CTM:
1. Mid to long term planning.
2.Does not supprt the above mentioned detailed schduling activities.
Thanks,
