SSO for SAPGUI on SAP NetWeaver 2004s on AIX and HP UX

Former Member

Hello,

could you point me to find instructions on how to set up subject? Two different installations (HP UX and AIX) with the same purpose - enable SSO for SAP GUI. I found [this instruction |http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwmobile71/helpdata/en/43/ce38952dde0a98e10000000a1553f6/content.htm] concerning windows platform.

Is the process of SSO setup different for Unix?

It tells that SAP provides only windows paltform library, where can I take these libraries for HP and AIX unices?

Thank you

Hello,

Please see notes 352295 and 150380,

Kerberos implementations different from the one contained in Microsoft

Windows are not supported by SAP -

Alternatively, please consider to make use of one of the certified

partner products that are available for SNC.

You can find a list of these partner products on the SAP Support Portal:

http://service.sap.com/security ==> "Certified Security Partners"

There is no link like "Certified Security Partners" on this page, may be it was moved somewhere?

Suggest you start by reading through this document ->

http://www.realtech.com/winternational/pdf/consulting/whitepaper/sap_single_sign-on_und_secure_conne...

Describes the process for Linux and Microsoft AD, but has been used here to help setup SAPGui SSO on AIX. Go through the document with your Unix admin's, they should be able to help adjust the Linux instructions to fit with AIX or HPUX.

Is it possible to try to setup SAPGUI SSO first on SAP MINI (SAP NW ABAP 701 SR1 Trial) - will all needed functionality like SNC work on SAP MINI?

Thank you

I just implemented this on a proof of concept Sun server and the link in Daniel Parker's post will work, but keep in mind, as mentioned, you will have to do some customization, as the instructions vary slightly from platform to platform. Someone on your team will need a good skill set with C compilers.

We used the MIT source code and binaries instead of the Sun binaries and those worked well.

Also make sure to read the SAP notes mentioned in this John Feely's post as they describe your support and also options regarding third party vendors.

I may do an article on the steps for this for SDN but not sure yet as it's mostly just a rehash of the Realtech link but with the particulars of the Sun platform.
