Hi,
When i was trying to activate from "Standard Change list" getting the following error "Enter a value for attribute "Service Number".
What does mean by "Service Number"? Is it sender or reciver system number?
Even i have checked in previous blogs. But i could n't get the info.. on above given.

As mentioned ,pls make sure you are activating the correct set of objects which is related to your scenario.
The service number is required for HTTP/HTTPs channel configuration and you can find the details in the SMICM transaction ,
in the top menu select Goto and then services ,there you will find the service number.usually it is 5XX00(XX being system ID).
And also if its an XI receiver channel you need to mention the serivce number of the receiver system.
It is not require for file adapter .

What are you doing? What are you activating? Design or Configuration?
If it is in the desing, maybe you have to put information about Host in your Software Component.
If it is in the Configuration, you have to correct your communication channel.

If your are using the http channel then the service number refer to the port for the target host.

for the error description, check which object it is pointing to .. example you might be activating a communication channel.
Then open the affected object and edit the details...
