Hi,
1.
With PCK SAP providing all adapters, File, JDBC, JMS, RFC, IDOC.
What is the difference between PCK and XI then, when PCK also have all Adapters.
2.
In ABAP Proxy,
File 2 R/3 Scenario on receiver side we are using XI Adapter ( i have seen the B'log)
sameway if the case R/3 to File using Proxy, do we need to use XI Adapter?
3. How do we test Scenarios in XI?
4. How to transport Scenarios to Production Server from Development?
When we transport all Objects(related to a Scenario) in SLD, IR, ID are transferred or do we need to one by one.
Thanks
Jen
HI,
PCK-
PCK is used by small customers, because they are not able to go for XI. (may be cost etc). It helps the customer to conenct to XI system . i.e it helps in communicate between XI system and small customers.

1) File Import /Export

In case of File -> R/3, you use inbound proxy (server proxy) i.e. proxy objects generated based on your Inbound Msg Intf.
For R/3 -> File, you use outbound proxy (client proxy) i.e. proxy objects generated based on your outbound Msg Intf.
Testing of XI scenarios depends on the sender/receiver communication channels used.
For eg. R/3 -> Thirparty, you can trigger interface using a IDOC generation program, RFC calling program or a Client Proxy calling program..
For eg. File -> R/3, you trigger the scenario by placing the file in the source directory and you check the result in you application system. You can use SXMB_MONI in XI system for monitoring.
To transport scenarios, you have two options
Using CMS (Change Management Service) http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/e1/69a740aa053a13e10000000a155106/content.htm
Using File system http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/a8/5e56006c17e748a68bb3843ed5aab8/content.htm
You need to separately transfer SLD, IR and ID content.

PCK is just a mini XI on a remote location where you don't have direct access..for eg. BANK

Yes you have for the sender XI adapter.
<i>3. How do we test Scenarios in XI?</i>
One option is to test is Runtime Workbench>component monitoribg> Integration Engine-->Test scenario
<i>4. How to transport Scenarios to Production Server from Development?

You can do this using Import /export of .tpz file
or you can configure CMS.

Hi,
Many thanks for replies..
i got some confusion here, by your answers. For my question,
2.In ABAP Proxy,
File 2 R/3 Scenario on receiver side we are using XI Adapter ( i have seen the B'log /people/prateek.shah/blog/2005/06/14/file-to-r3-via-abap-proxy)
sameway if the case R/3 to File using Proxy, do we need to use XI Adapter?
For this Question <b>vijaya kumari</b> gave answer:
Yes you have for the sender XI adapter.
<b>Krishna Moorthy P</b> gave answer:
>>>Not required.
Hope you got my question, i am asking the reverse case of above blog.
Thanks
J
HI,
As I told, it is not required here. But you have option XI adapter is acting as a Sender.
