Dispatcher stopped after Kernel upgrade from 175 to 254

Former Member

Hi,

I had upgraded the SAP kernel from 175 to 254 but dispatcher stopped and all work processes went in ended status.

I found three errors at syslog of MMC console:

1. SAP Basis System: Initialization DB-Connect Failed, Return Code 000256

2. Database: > ORA-01031: insufficient privileges

3. Database: Database error 1031 at CON

Server details:

O/S - Windows 2008 64 Bit

Oracle 10G

SAP ECC 6.0

Please help me.

Thanks

Lokendra

Hi all,

Thanks for your reply. I want to ask one thing.

The old kernal 175 is working fine on same server. Is there any spicific reason of failure of 254 kernel.

Thanks

You sure you have downloaded the correct version (unicode/non-unicode) kernel?

Once you upgraded the 254 kernel you can only upgrade dw_276-20001354.sar to 276.

Lokendra,

I am still sure that running those script will do this , Have you tried that runing those scripts as mentioned in note, I faced same issue after kernel upgrade and got resolved as well by following above notes.

Regards.

You might need to run the sapdba_role.sql.

I ran the scripts below as sidadm

Go under /usr/sap/SID/SYS/run/exe and run

sqlplus /nolog @sapdba_role.sql <SID> <- -- For ABAP sceham

sqlplus /nolog @sapdba_role.sql <SID>DB <- - -For Java Schema

Check the sapdba_role.log outputfile ..

I hope that solved your issue

Hi,

You need to implement

Note 1028220 - ORA-01031: Insufficient privileges despite SAPCONN role

or read

Note 834917 - Oracle Database 10g: New database role SAPCONN

Regards,

Hi,

If the notes 834917 and 1028220 didn't solve ur issue. Please check the [SAP Note 134592 - Importing the SAPDBA role (sapdba_role.sql)|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=134592].

Hope this helps.
