Background image too big?

Former Member

Hi all,

I imported a bitmap image (in SE78) to use as background in a smartform. The image covers all page (A4 paper) and in my PC it have 1,68 MB.

When I print the form the file generated by spool (transfered from the Windows spool to the printer) is 190 MB. Testing with a printer that have 256 MB of internal memory is ok. When I test with a printer that have 64 MB nothing is printed because the file is too big.

Most of the printers (specially the B&W ones) have way less than 190 MB of internal memory.

There's some way of optimizing the image imported into SAP?

Best regards,

Charles

Hello,

You can try to decrease the DPI value, and reduce the color to 256.

Then import the image again.

Hi David,

The image file was send with the func spec and I don't have any image editor software here at work (only MS Paint).

The file properties says DPI is already at 75.

Thank you.
