User id type for connecting Universe with SAP BI

Hi All,

I am working on SAP BO XI 3.1 SP3 and I am successfully able to connect Bex query to the Universe.

While creating a connection within Universe, we have to provide SAP BI logon parameters like Application IP, user id, password, etc while connecting without SSO.

Currently I am using my SAP user id credentials.

But going forward in production environment we should have some dedicated ID for this connection as my id may expire in future.

So what is user id type that should be used in this case and what is the best practice in such scenario.

Would appreciate if someone could provide some reference link/doc as well.

Hi,

for the connection creation you can use your SAP credentials, its valid only till you create and edit the connection.

for the user's as per my experience it's better to select "use single sign on while refreshing reports at view time" so when the user refresh the report his credentials will be passed for autherization.
