Change DBSID of existing PI server

Hi Experts,

We have PI server running with system name as 'SXI' and DB name 'SXI'. Is it possible to point the existing PI server to different DB instance with different db name not matching with the system name say 'ABC'.

Appreciate your help.

Many thanks,

Ravi

Hi,

I suppose it is not possible to connect to a different DB instance altogether specially when it is dual stack.

AS Java will store lot of instance related information in the database which wil not be available when you connect a different database altogether.

Cheers....,

Thanks Francis.

The explanation is quite useful. However the discussion is more about changing SID during installation.

But, my requirement is to change the DBSID of existing PI instance. Our's is ABAP+Java.

Btw, can you let me know, where can i change the DBSID for both ABAP and Java?

Many thanks,

Ravi
