Hi,

We have SAP ECC 6.0 System running on AIX Platform with Cluster environment,

when we try to run the EHPI in the CI system we are getting following error.

Unable to detect an abap and/or AS Java instance of the SAP INSTALLING EHP

Please Let me know how to start it, i have tried doing from the Perst IP also.

Further i have cleared all backup files in profile folder ( we have only Oracle and other Log files in same director)

but there is no backup Profile in profile folder.

Thanks & Regards,

Balaji.S

Is this happening when you are trying to start the command line process, or when using the EHPI GUI?

If it is while you are trying to start the command line process, make sure that your EHPI folder is on the CI server (I usually will put it in the usr/sap/SID directory) and verify you are pointing the jce_policy_zip parameter to the correct location.

Hi,

Also, make sure that you should run EHPI installer from <sid>adm user.

Thanks

Hi,

As I can see you are running EHPI installer in cluster environment, could you please tell me whether you are running EHPI installer using virtual hostname or physical host name ? Also, is system installed on cluster ?

Thanks

You said you are clicking on the GUI, correct?

After you have started the command line, you should connect to EHPI GUI using a web browser.

Once you verify that the command line process is running, open a web browser and go to http(s)://SERVERNAME:PORT by default the port is likely 4239, and for the server name you will want to us ethe fully-qualified domain name.

I am using Hostname currectly, and as you told i am following same procedure.

Still i am having same issue.

Is there any specific check i have to do for Cluster env..??

Thanks & Regards,

I suggest you to follow the installation guide all necessary steps are already documented. When you need to move your cluster resources and what the host names you have to use for installation (physical, virtual). Make sure you use correct names else your cluster will not work correctly.

Hi All,

In my system if i check.

There is an sapmnt/RSP link file which has been linked to /sapexe/RSP

/sapexe/RSP contains all the Sub folder including profile.

i have a doubt that in my SAPMNT/RSP link the link owner is root. will that be a problem?

but under /sapexe/RSP all files are under <SID>ADM, if i login to OS and go to sapmnt/RSP/Profile it goes to /sapexe/RSP/profile without any permission issue.

Please suggest as i am not able to start the EHPI itself....

Thanks & Regards,
