RR for 20 MIC all time & Some time only 5 MICs depends upon situation

Dear Experts,

we have requirement as follows:

1] For fresh heat we are measuring all the 20 characteristics for a Material

2] But for repeated heat we need to measure only 5 characters which are necessary.

In our business requirement all results are kept mandatory. becasue some time users may skip some characters to skip

How to resolve.

Once you have done first heat, if rejected how are you rejecting it in the system. Are you posting it to block stock or keeping it in the quality

What abt having 2 operations in your inspection plan, one operation for regular with all 20 chars as mandatory and second operation with 5 mic optional.

We are sending material back to customer by return delivery.

operation will be only one, again after comming back from vendor we are measuring only 5 MICs.

Don,

I think you'll have to utilize one of the user exits for further selection of an inspection plan. QPAP0002 (Enhancement for material/plan assignment, plan selection).

Create two plans. One with the required 20 characs, the other with the required 5. Assign the material to both plans. When the lot is created, use the user exit to select plan 1 or plan 2 based on wether or not the material/batch already has a completed 01 inspection using plan 1. If not, select plan 1. If it does select plan 2.

You could make the plan selection a manual step if you wanted. After the lot is created, go to QA02 and select the proper plan. But you'll probably want to use the development so this can be done automatically. you can use the manual process to demo the process to see if it will work for you.

can you please explain the business scenario regarding the fresh heat and repeat heat. How do you differentiate it. Is the heat an operation for treating the raw material ?

Dear Gajesh,

1] We are receiving material from vendor.

2] Then this material sending for heat treatement, after receiving from HT we have to measure 20 characteristics [Fresh Heat]

if it is acceptable then no problem. If it is reject again same material need to be sent it for Re-heating.

3] After receiving from Re-heating we have mesure only 5 characteristcs not all the 20 MICs.

Note: We have made mandatory for all the MICs results becasue some time user may ignore the some results so this has kept mandatory.
