Hi All ,
Is it really necessary to down the server during 'day light saving' transfer ? Any workaround to fix the batch jobs without making the server down ?
Our Basis is asking for 2 hrs downtime during transition of 'day light saving' .
Thank you.
SAP recommends to stop all SAP Systems from 2:15 a.m. to 3:15 a.m. on October, 31st.
The clock change will take place in the night of October, 31st at 2:59:59 a.m. Therefore the hour between 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. will be passed through twice.
If you do not do this and transactions inside your db are making changes you will get an inconsistent db.

It is important to shut down the SAP servers for adjusting server clock to day light savings because every detail can get affected ... even the time stamp on logs
