Today's scheduling

Hi,

There are some demands whose supply is planned in the past as capacity is not available in the future

We do not want CTM to generate supply in the past(we are not maintaining any ORDER START DATE as -ve)

Do we have anything like this-----the system backward schedules and sees that the start date is falling in the past and then does a forward scheduling to plan for the same in the future

Kindly suggest,

SS

Hi,

You can maintain a positive entry in the order creation start date.

Thanks,

Hi Nandha,

Thanks for the prompt response

If I have a CTM planning horizon for 100 days, then does it not mean that the ORDER START DATE is by default understood by the system as +100?

Thanks,

Hi,

Planning horizon is different and Order creation date is different.

Planning period: Used for selecting the demand and receipts based on planning mode and deletion mode. This is defined by CTM time stream. You can restrict the order selection further by specifying the Order selection profile.

Order creation date: determines the start date for creation of orders with in the planning period. This is always current date.

But you can define +ve and - ve value also.

Hi,

Planning horizon defined is 23.09.2010 to 22.09.2011..

Demand on 23.11.2010

Order creation start date - 10-

Running the CTM will create orders 05.10.2010

Demand on 23.11.2010

Order creation start date 10

Running the CTM will create orders on 26.10.2010.

Though sufficient capacity is avaialble as on today itself , since we have defined order creation to be started from current date +10 days CTM run has created orders on 26.10.2010 though demand exists on 26.11.2010.

If by any chance the order creation date goes before the planning horizon start date, orders will be created as on date.

If by any chance the order creation date goes after planning finish date, orders will not be created.

Hope you are clear.

Pls close the thread

Thanks,

nandha
