Sales order taking a long time to save during VA01 and VA02

Dear Experts,

We have an issue where saving or changing a sales order (VA01 / VA02) is taking a long time to save but is only happening for a few sold-to parties. It also only hapens once a material is added to the order.

The symptoms are as follows:

- When a sales order is created (VA01) for these specific sold-to parties and a material is entered then the order takes a long time to save, or even sometimes times out.

- When these sales orders need to be changed (VA02) it also take a long time to save. Example: went back in the order and changed the PO no. and it took over 5 minutes to save. When the material is deleted from the sales order then it saves instantly.

From what I have seen it is specific to only a few sold-to parties and only started happening recently. Another common factor is that it only take a long time to save once there is a material in the sales order.

Any feedback regarding this would be much appreciated.

This was due to an internal bespoke table update built behind the order entry transaction. It is now resolved.

[Lakshmipathi]

One factor could be more number of line items and corresponding schedule lines for that customer. It could also be due to non updation of latest patch levels.
