Customizing SWIFT MT101 Header / Footer block

Hi all

I have configured the payment medium workbench to use format SWIFT MT101. I have generated a sample file and submitted it to the bank. However the bank says that the file should include a header and trailer. (The ones with the braces '', '', '}', '' ). Does anyone know how and where in SAP this can be customized?

They should be configured as different segments, the rows that will not repeat. If you see the standard format supplied by SAP, you'll have an idea. This is normally done through TCode - DMEE if your format is created from there. If you had your ABAPer write the program, then you should get the details to him.

May I know if the updated header is the common protocol from SWIFT?

As now I am requested to insert the header as stated before and have file split if over 10KBytes. I cannot figure out where I can insert the file split logic, can anymore help?

Hi Michael,

yes, I found a solution. Within transaction OBPM3 you have to add customer event modules at events 21 and 41, e.g.

Z_FI_PAYMEDIUM_MT101_21. Here you can add the MT101 header and trailer.There are sample function modules for this two events provided by SAP: FI_PAYMEDIUM_SAMPLE_21 and FI_PAYMEDIUM_SAMPLE_41. If you are interested in the source code I have written, I can send it to you by E-Mail.

I have a little bit similar issue - I have to enable a FIN compatible header (the block basic header and the application header) in the MT101 format.
