Hi,

Suppose there is some days of supply in the past, then will the CTM generate supply for the same in the past?

Thanks

SS

Hi,

In the CTM profile, you can determine the start for the creation of orders (planned orders, purchase

requisitions and stock transfers) within the planning period in the Order Creation Start field.

The Order Creation Start refers to the current date. You can use either a negative or positive value to

specify that CTM planning creates orders in the past or in the future.

However, if because of the value specified the system determines a time that lies before the planning start, CTM planning only creates the orders after the planning start. If the system determines a time after the planning finish, CTM planning cannot create orders.

Thanks,

Hi Nandha,

Thanks a lot for the prompt response

In this case what would be the difference between the MAX EARLINESS allowed and Order start creation data as -ve

I am asking this specifically as we are seeing some receipts generated in the past (Initial in the PB).We are trying to figure out the reason

Thanks,

Hi,

Maximum earliness:

By using the Maximum Earliness function we can restrict the timeframe between individual receipts and

requirements for a location product, and so prevent the system building up too much supply. The system

only generates a receipt to cover a requirement when the availability date for this receipt falls within

a specific timeframe before the requirements date. However, the system can use existing receipts to

cover the requirement.

Order creation frame (horizon for creating orders):

By using the Order Creation Frame (Horizon for Creating Orders) function we can restrict the processing

time for a product across all BOM levels in such a way that generally, less supply is built up. However, if you have entered a specific timeframe for creating orders, CTM planning can think that only an alternative with a lower priority can cover the requirement in the given timeframe. This results in a shorter timeframe between the availability date of the receipt

and the due date of the requirement.
