SGEN RUNNING VERY SLOW

R/S all,

I have done homogenious system copy from Production to test system using r/3 installation method. After this activity I had started SGEN on all components. It is taking more then 72 hours to complete.

My System configuration is Intel Xeon 2.4 ghz with 8 gb of RAM, SAP ECC 6.0, IBM DB2 v9.1 database (140 gb), windows x64bit.

Kindly guide me to Speed up the process so I can built up system in minimum time.

Hi,

SGEN depends upon on hardware/CPU's and RAM available,with present available resources you have its fare to run for such longer time

How many of those CPUs do you have? Only one?

8 GB of RAM is VERY VERY few, the system will have to re-read the data again and again from the database since it does not fit in the buffers (because of the limited memory).

So there's not much you can do but using a bigger machine.
