Import text field with decimal comma instead of point

Former Member

HI,

we are importing data from a text file (tab delimited) into the SRM-MDM repository. All valuie for the price in the txet file are in the german format. => 123,12 .That means a comma instead of a point as decimal delimiter. For example 123,11 instead of 123.12.

During the import with the import manage we got a message saying that "Could not convert value '1043,17' in field Price". How can we convert the format to 1043.17.

By the way in the data manager we can add the price with the comma.

Regards Bernd

Hi,

Just try login in import manager with language de if you are importing data in german.

I think that will solve your problem.

just try and revert back with your result.

Thanks,

Hi Bernd,

Just try change in configuration in import manager.

Just go to import manager

click on Configuration option

Go to numeric format

and change the decimal seprator entry and 1000s separator

try with these things and back with your results.

Thanks,

Sudhanshu

Hi Bernd.

1. Login to Import Manager

2. Navigate to Options->Configurations Options

Under the node Numeric Format, Change the Decimal symbol from "." to ","

Hope this helps.

Best Regards

Hi,

I have the same problem. How do you define/change the decimal symbol in MDM?

Configuration -> Options only useful in the user interface of MDM Import or MDM Data.

Thank's

Hi Bernd,

As you said that By the way in the data manager we can add the price with the comma

So I hope this Price MDM field is of type Text. If it so, you can then replace comma "," with dot ".".

After mapping your source field with target field, right click on field>Set value conversion filter>Replace..

Here, In Find what: , and in Replace with: .
