Error in backend contract creation from SRM for service item

Hi ,

While creating a backend contract from an accepted bid the follwing error occurs in ECC and the contract creation fails.

"Please enter material or account assignment category" 026 (06)

"Item Category D can only be used with account assignment category"

Kindly note that is happening for a Item type service.

In ECC, When you procure services, system expects you to put a Account assignment category . So when you are creating a contract for a service(item category D), you either specify the account assignment details in the Contract. If you dont have one right now, configure Account Assignment Category U(Unknown) in SRM and map it to ECC Account Assignment Category U.

On using U as account assignment category you will not be required to enter other account assignment details in the contract,

Setting up Unknown account assignment can be done as follows:

1. Create Account Assignment Configuration in ECC which you have already completed.

2. On the IMG Path in SRM: Path:IMG --> SAP Supplier Relationship Management --> SRM Server --> Cross-Application Basic Settings --> Account Assignment --> Define Account Assignment Categories:

a. Create SRM Account Assignment Category and map it to the respective Backend Category.

3. Assign the new account assignment category in the Attribute KNT in SRM Org Structure

After that user will be able to select that category in the SRM Application DOcuments
