Hi Gurus,
I need to built a SAP 3.1 H system using system copy method running on Windows NT.
I will require to generate a (.dmp) file from the source system in order to built the new system.
My question is - how long would it take for a 13Gb database running on Win NT. Anyone has experience or an estimated time?
Thanks,
IA
export should be quick...
the long part is the import. plan 5 times as long as the export.

6 Hours 14 Minutes and 34 seconds
Honestly, how should anyone be able to tell you.
Running on modern metall, I'd assume som 45 minutes for such an export of a 13G DB, but
since your release is quite ancient, I'd assume you have a quite old box with slow disks.
I remember old systemcopies to take an export over night, so 6-8 hours might not be so far off

You're going to create a .dmp file?
Like the one created by Oracle export tool?
Just as a sidenote: this isn't supported!
Concerning your question: the obviously not only depends on your amount of data but also on the performance of the system you're on.
Why don't you just run the export (can be done online) and see how long it takes!?
regards,
Lars
