Hi
We are trying to login to our portal (distributed DB in one server and CI in another server).
http://hostname:51100/irj/portal
we get the java.lang.NullPointerException: null error.
Whereas the other link
http://hostname:51100/index.html , systeminfo all are working fine. only irj is giving us the null pointer exception.
We checked the services file, it has the entry.
sapdp11 3211/tcp # SAP System Dispatcher Port
sapgw11 3311/tcp # SAP System Gateway Port
sapdp11s 4711/tcp # SAP System Dispatcher Security Port
sapgw11s 4811/tcp # SAP System Gateway Security Port
Will send the log in the next message, I can see in the forums that few has faced this error, but no one has updated the solution
the defaultTrace.16.trc says as below

Sunny,
Its a distributed environment and a standalone Java (EP).
As standalone java doesn't have a gateway. should I need to install gateway? bcos our development and production server doesn't have gateway running, but they are not distributed.
Can you please guide how to check whether gw is needed in a standalone java stack instance (DB Instance & CI seperated).
If its not running how to troubleshoot?
Thanks
Senthil

we just upgraded the system from Nw7.0 sps12 to EHP1 sps 06.
I just checked in visual admin and found few components in stopped status
sap.com/com.sap.portal.ajax.navigation.servlet
sap.com/com.sap.portal.fpn.accessservice
sap.com/com.sap.portal.navigation.afp.servlet
sap.com/pcd_bizc_authoring
sap.com/sap.comtckmccoll.room.wsdepi
Is the above components required for irj/portal url to run?
also if I choose the above components, the start applicaition & stop application is disabled, does that mean whether I need to deploy and start the above components?
If I choose deploy its asking for the EAR files? How to get that?
thanks
Senthil
