SQL 2005-DB connect or UD connect SAP BW??

Hi gurus!

I have BI 7.2 version and I want connect with SQL server tables. Which system is better DB connect or a UD connect. Anyway coud you give me an advice about the steps to create a system logic to access SQL Server??? Because when I´m going to create a DB connect ask me a logic system.

As mentioned above, using DB connect is the best method.

You can create a logical system using transaction BD54, and all that is required is a Name and Description. BW just wants to know how to label/categorize the data you are bringing in, and tying it to a Logical System is the way it does that.

Hi!

I am also trying to install the DB-connect. However I encounter problems and I am not sure I am doing this the right way.. Could you guys provide with with a step-by-step tutorial?

I use BW 7.0 which is on a MaxDB and Windows Server 2003. I want to extract data from a Maconomy system which is on an MSSQL database. I assume this combination is possible? Do I need an additional installations on the BW or Maconomy side in order to make it work?

I'd be really greatful for any support!

Hi,

Best is to use DB connect. Interaction with MSSQL is easier with DB connect.
