Hi,
while implementing SNC, various SNC variables need to be set at OS level like SECUDIR, SNC_LIB
and at SAP profile level
snc/*
i did all these settings using my own personal id (which have admin access)
however SNC is not working, should i use some other User id for these setting .
please advice.

Surpreet
Hi,
Make sure that the saprouter process is started and the session is not closed. Have a look at this [link|http://service.sap.com/saprouter-sncdoc] and proceed as described there.
Hope this helps.

saprouter? Open poster does not mention saprouter at all?
@Surpreet: the environment variables need to be set for the sap sidadm user. On unixes in most cases for a csh shell the .cshrc can be used. On windows you have the possibility to also set the variables globally as well (for all users). The user has to do a fresh login and SAP has to be restarted with the new environment.
Cheers Michael
Thanks Michael,
We have 64 bit window 2008 standard.
I had set Global variabled SNC_LIB & SECUDIR at OS and created few RZ10 instance profile parameters (snc/*...)
Is it compulsary that these setting should be done using <SID>adm or SAPservice<SID> user ids?
or any user with admin access can do these.
Also do you have any idea, if I also need to set global variable PATH.

If you are setting variables at system variable then you can use any OS user , but if it is user variable make sure you are using SIDADM, for profile parameter anyhow you need to use SAP user not OS user.

As mentioned abve if you are going with system variable you can proceed with any OS user.

Hi Surpreet,
Its better to make the these environment variables set as system variables if it is done by any user rather than <SID> ADM.
Once it is set , restart system at OS level and login to your SAP system. If it incldes an ABAP stack, login to SAP System and execute strustsso2 > System PSE and check if it is Green .
Check SNC Useru2019s Guide, which is available on the SAP Service Marketplace at http://service.sap.com/security.
Also check http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/c3/d2281db19ec347a2365fba6ab3b22b/content.htm and it may help you .
