Convert the plant to storage location

Hi,

We want to convert some plants to storage locations. these physical warehouses would be defined as storage locations going forward.

in this regard can you please ans my specific queries:

1. Steps to convert the plant (1234 ) to storage location (1234)

2. Should i delete the older plant 1234 or just makr it is as DO NOT USE and control via user authorisation

3. are there any other points i should take care of? Like creating STO between the plant(1234) and the storage location (1234)

Hi,

Consider below points -

1. You need to create the storage locations (for Old plant) in one identified plant.

2. Transfer all the stock to this new locations in the identified plant.

3. Close all transactions pertaining to old plants

4. Remove all authorisations pertaining to old plants from users

Hi Rakesh,

Yes , i will create the new S.loc in one of the already existing plants and do the stock transfers.

But could you elaborate what did u mean by Close all the pending transactions.

Pending transactions - Open POs, STOs stock in transit, Production orders, MIRO pending, Sales orders, etc

there shouldn't be any open PO, stock should not be there. make the stock zero, no open PO should be there.

coversion of plant to storage location is not possible.

create new plant and maintain new storage locaction.

make flag for deletion for plant you want to delete and remove the assignment to company code , purchase organisation etc.

remove stock from that plant
