Hi Volker,

Can you please let me know which log file you are referring to ? Also I cannot see any option to skip this step?

Yes my the existing kernel is 3 yr old after the extraction I am planning to extract the new kernel to<updir/ exenew>.

I am new to AS400,Appreciate if you can be bit explainatory when you say " name this kernel SAP700OPT and SAP700NEW "

Thanks for your help!!

Regards!!

Hi Ravi,

perhaps, there is one more log file that describes the exact problem ...

I typically never use this technique, as I do prefer to use a fully patched kernel - especially as you seem to use ECC6 SR3 which is abut 3 years old ...

So, you could load the kernel manually as described in the notes and then name this kernel SAP700OPT and SAP700NEW and tell the upgrade "skip" and then the problem will disappear ...
