error while adding bi patch

here i faced one problem while adding BI patch to newely installed system

the error is at phase import_proper below are shown error log

Oracle is Down. someone (or something) shut it down.

maybe an offline backup was started?

It seems someone tried to shutdown the DB from some other session, Check alert file and find out the cause.

Yes as replied by some other techie, you can restart the patch applying once DB is up.

Hi,

SQL error 1089 accessing : ORA-01089: immediate shutdown in progress

Check whether ur DB is up and running and then try to rerun the patch update again.
