Procurement budget based on profit center

Former Member

Hi,

I am maintaining procurement budget through Fund Management.

Commitment Item is being derived based on valuation class of material.

Fund center is derived based on profit center in purchase order. I have written a derivation rule as follows:

Profit center = Fund Center

Condition = it is an inventory posting.

Profit Center should be assigned to purchase order through Material Master data. Now system should derive fund center based on profit center.

But system is not working the way i m thinking & not deriving Fund Center.

Could you please let me know the way to resolve the problem i.e. derivation of fund center based on profit center in purchase order.

Thanks.

Hi,

But system is not working the way i m thinking & not deriving Fund Center

Can you elaborate? Put a trace in FMDERIVE and check whether your rule/condition is fulfilled.

Hi Eli,

I hope you doing good.

When i test derivation rule in FMDERIVE, it is working & deriving fund center based on profit center if inventory posting flag is marked.

But when i am creating purchase order then it does not derive fund center. Material master has the same profit center as given in derivation rule.

Hi,

Activate a trace in FMDERIVE and you'll see why it's not derived. Or do you mean that the profit centre itself is blank in the PO?

Hi Eli,

Actually I am not able to see profit center in Purchase Order. I think therefore system is unable to derive fund center.

Just to remind again, if check derivation rule in test mode through T Code FMDERIVE, system is deriving fund center based on profit center.

Hi,

Then, it's more an issue to MM forum. I mean, if you do't have profit centre derived from the material into PO, then it has nothing to do with FM.

Hi Eli,

Though I am unable to see profit center in purchase order, but profit center is updated in PO line Item Table (EKPO - KO_PRCTR)

I think if profit center is updated in PO line item then system should consider PO lint item.

Further, If I activate the trace and create purchase order, system is not determining profit center.

But if save the purchase order by deactivating fund management, profit center is getting updated in PO line Item as explained before.

Points for consideration: I can not see profit center in purchase order screen. But profit center is updated in PO Line Item table. (EKPO).

Hi,

What do you have in FMIOI table for this PO? Is there profit centre entered? I'm afraid, you'd have to debug the process to understand what's going on (I never encountered this problem) or open OSS message.

Hello Manish,

I am facing the same issue. I have created inventory account as commitment item with Finanacial transaction 30 and it is asking for Fund center at the time of creating PO. I activated the trace but it is not deriving Fund center from the Profit center maintained in the material master. Do we have any function module to look for profit center from material and then derive Fund center.

Thanks,

Ankish
