I have a user request to change the Customer Number for Sales Orders.
"Customer account numbers must be 11 digits for the bank to accept the account number. The first 10 digits will be the
account number and the 11 digit is the check digit. Use the industry standard LUHM mod 10 formula."
The field is only 10 characters long so I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what their solution was.
hi
its is not IMPOSSIBLE to change the length but yes difficult
You can change the length if you have ACCESS KEY which you can get from BASIS team and then with the help of ABAPer

The solution was to use a different field for the check digit.
Thanks to all who answered.

HI friend
I think we could not change the length of the customer account no.
In my opinion, you just need use another field to record the check digit, then create the mapping relationship between customer account no and check digit at customer master.
If you need to do some action for the bank to accept the account number, you just join them before send out the information.
