Hi Kunal,

I think, by now your DM must be working, but just for info.

Please check SAP Service Marketplace Address , it should be , http://service.sap.com/ and not https:.

574885 Download Manager: Generate trace file for analysis

401196 Download Manager: Proxy configuration problems.

The above given SAP notes are very useful , which can be used to analyze the issue and also gives steps to generate the trace of the Download Manager which points to the issue. I resolved my DM issue with the above SAP notes.

Steps mentioned in the SAP note 401196 - Download Manager: Proxy configuration problems to trace out the issue:

Open a command prompt.

CD to the directory where you installed the Download Manager.

At the prompt, type "java -Djavax.net.debug=all -jar DLManager.jar dlmanager.Application".

The Download Manager will be started. You are able to see detailed debugging information in the command prompt window. Note that it is also possible to write this output to a file.

Do let the forum know if your issue is resolved or not.

Anuj

Hi Anuj,

Thanks for your reply...

I tried to run the below command in the command prompt at C:\Program Files\SAP Download Manager

java -Djavax.net.debug=all -jar DLManager.jar dlmanager.Application

But it is giving below error:

Unable to access jarfile DLManager.jar

Hi Kunal,

Kindly check if the file DLManager.jar exists in the folder C:\Program Files\SAP Download Manager.

There should be 2 jar files in the folder with the name DLManager.jar and lax.jar.

But if the file doesnot exist, the DM will not launch.

So, try to reinstall the DM, after that run the trace command, to figure out the issue.

Do let the forum know the status of the issue.

Regards,

Anuj

Hello All ,

Please try to use CNTLM proxy software solution..

It works for me..it's freeware and easy to configure.

Hello,

Proxy server might have been mapped on to your browser, could you please cross check with your browser settings

On your internet browser > tools>internet options>conections> click on LAN settings under proxy server do you have any IP address mentioned ?

Try to check on bypass proxy server for local addresses, and try to connect to download manager

Regards

JUDE.

If you check the Download Manager page you will note the following:

At the moment the Download Manager does not support proxy authentication (userid/password) and tunneling with JRE version 1.4.2_13 and up.

So if you are using a newer version of java(which I suspect you are) then it will not work. You can get around this though by using such applications as CNTLM(recommended) and then simply pointing the Download Manager to a local proxy without authentication.

Otherwise use a Java version <= 1.4.2_12

Hello,

Check if you have entered the correct details in the following:

- Internet Proxy port numbers

- Userid/Password for your Internet Proxy

- Download directory for your downloads - most unlikely cause.
