Source of quotation was deleted in vendor system

Item is transfered from punchout catalog to SRM. Here in SRM the quantity is changed. This results in the warning message - ' Source of quotation was deleted in vendor system'.

What is the logic behind this?

If you select the Item from catalog the quantity should not be changable in SRM..

Reason,

1) The major reason I can say is minimum orderable quantity..

2) Unit of measure

Above are some of the reason.. So better lock the quantity field for catalog order, on the other hand you can have it open for free text orders..

This is out of experience..
