Characteristic value Activation

Hi

We have "batch class" (cl02)with 2 Characteristic Activated, but as per the business the need we would like to add 2 more standard Characteristic along with the existing Characteristic(for APO). When we activae the new Characteristic, it is automatically fetched to the individual batches but the values are not fetched. (LOBM_VFDAT ,LOBM_APO_SL_MIN etc)

I hope this may be a common issue with APO implementation.

Is there any way to activate the values in Mass, because our existing batch is huge?

Hi

With the new characteristics assigned to materials you can force the system to calculate the expiry date using MSC2N in R3

manually.

Hi,

Pls check whether Organizational area is maintained for the characterisitics.

The integration models for classes and characteristics should not contain any other objects to keep the integration

of classes and characteristics of other master data separate. Any changes made to the integration model that are

required because of other objects do not result in the characteristic and class master data being transferred

again.

Prerequisities:

1.Determine the scope of the class and characteristic master data to be transferred in the integration model by

specifying the organizational area.

2. In the SAP R/3 system, assign a special organizational area that you also specify in the integration model to the characteristics to be transferred to SAP APO.

3.The organizational areas must be created before the classes and characteristics are transferred to SAP APO.

4.Thecharacteristics and classes are still transferred to SAP APO, even if the organizational areas are not maintained in

SAP APO, but you cannot display input help for the characteristics in SAP APO,

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Organaizational area is maintained and the parameters are following to the APO.( if we update the batch manually)

Our requirement is We already have 500K batchs without the APO characteristic, we are adding the New APO char to the existing Bactch class. When we add the new Char, it is not pulling the value/parameter automatically as we assign new char.

New field (char)remains blank till we change/update the batch master.

Is there any way to update the existing batch so that the new assigned char are getting populated.?

Hi Santha,

1) Check SAP note 1306779

2) Run /sapapo/ccr for the transactional data (stock etc.,)

and check any errors are notified

3) Check the application log after transfer
